Comments 0 | Recommend 0Chief Meteorologist Associate Member American Meteorological Society Associate Member, National Weather Association John Matthews is Chief Meteorologist for WPEC CBS 12's DOPPLER 12000 Weather Team. John is the Dean of local television meteorologists - having joined the NCBS 12 staff in May 1976. Prior to that, he worked at WDIV TV 4 in Detroit. John's broadcasts can be seen on CBS 12 at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 11:00 p.m., as well as The Ten O'Clock News on WFLX Fox 29, which is produced by WPEC. A native of Detroit, he attended Ferris State College in Michigan, and graduated from the Mississippi State University as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. He is also certified in meteorology by the National Weather Association. John enjoys snow skiing, travel and woodworking. He and his wife have two daughters.
