Tonight you have a chance to help in that process and collect some cash. To be honest it's not the crime of the century, a manager stealing money from a fast food restaurant. But it's still a case that's costing you, me and the rest of the taxpayers money and it will until fugitive Christian Aguilar is caught.
"There's other ways of making money. That's for sure", says Detective Gabe Carino of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office. He's one half of a pair of detectives solving crimes in Royal Palm Beach.
Carino says Christian Aguilar used his position as manager of this Royal Palm Beach Arby's to make himself an extra 45-hundred dollars through fraudulent bank deposits at least three times.
"It's a loss to the business and what's a loss to the business is a loss to the consumer because they got to make is up somehow," says Carino.
Deputies say that Aguilar flat out lied about his daily deposits. He was telling his bosses that he was brining the money from Arby's to the Royal Palm Beach National City Bank. But when Arby's general manager checked with bank employees they found out there were no deposits. The money was going directly into Aguilar's pocket.
When Arby's confirmed the problem they tried to confront Aguilar, but he was already gone. "We are unable to locate him. He's gone," says Carino.
Investigators believe Aguilar may have fled to the Ocala area. His last known address was in Port St. Lucie. Until till he's located Palm Beach County Sheriff's Detective Carino has to keep looking.
"Well he's sitting on my books. I sure would like to close this case and move on," he says.
Remember you can collect up to 1000 dollars for information leading to his arrests.
Take him off the books by calling 1-800-458-TIPS.
