Comments 0 | Recommend 0Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Associate Member American Meteorological Society Associate Member, National Weather Association Chris Farrell is an AMS certified meteorologist with WPEC CBS 12's "DOPPLER 12000" Weather Team. Chris Farrell's entire 22-year weather career has been right here in South Florida. Chris began his weather career in 1983 with WTVX Channel 34 in Ft. Pierce. He began work with CBS 12 in June 1990. His weather broadcasts can be seen on CBS 12 DAYBREAK (5:00-7:00 a.m.), WFLX Fox 29 Morning News (7:00 - 8:00 a.m.) and NEWS 12 AT NOON (12:00-12:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday. His Doppler 12000 weather forecasts can also be heard on AM radio stations WJNO and WBZT and FM stations WOLL, WKGR and WRLX Monday through Friday 5;30 am-3:00 pm. Born in Oxford, Mississippi, Chris was raised in both Gainesville and Key Biscayne Florida. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army Air Defense, then graduated from the University of Florida. He received his Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University in 1992. Chris earned the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Seal of Approval for his weather broadcasts. He has flown on two National Hurricane Center reconnaissance missions, covering Tropical Storms Elena, 1985, and Floyd, 1990. Tennis, golf, running and fishing are among his favorite recreational pastimes.
